Hi Deon,

This is a truly inspirational blog.

OK, so, my items that make my life great... what would I list as my 9 things...

1. My kids. I have twin boys who are now 17 and I do not get to see them nearly as much as I want to. We live in two different cities. I have now made it a priority to get to see them in the next three months.

2. Photography. I love taking photos, and especially of Cape Town and the mountain. Another thing I am now going to get out and do more of...

3. Writing. I too, have a blog. I don't get to it nearly as often as I should and I don't write nearly as much as I could... however, I am going to get my PC checked and fixed, and get to writing more articles, and working on that novel I started some three or four years ago...

4. Music... I love the old stuff. Remember 'Bad Company', the Eagles, Foreigner, Boston, Peter Frampton... Solid Gold from the 60's and 70's that LM radio and Capitol 604 used to play. I am at my most free state of emotion when I hear one of those good solid golden oldies on the radio.

5. Sex. Yes cliche' I know, say no more.

6. Food/Cooking. Since getting divorced ten years ago, I have discovered a love of cooking and I have experimented regularly with all kinds of foods. I have Jenny Morris as a " friend" on facebook (Yes, I am on facebook... don't pull your face like that...) and I love her sense of humour and flair in the kitchen.

7. Comedy. I love telling stories and making people laugh. I have had groups of friends over the years in stitches at parties with LOOONNG drawn out versions of stories, ad libbing a lot too. Stand up comedians are also a love of mine. I have met and followed the career of Mel Miller for a long time.

8. Performing/MC'ing. following on from the previous point, I have not done this a lot, but I have always had a flair for and an affiliation for standing up in front of an audience and putting on a show. I did readings of Herman Charles Bosman's works for a friend and friends, as well as a church in Bryanston once, fully made up as Oom Schalk and all on both occassions.

9. Camping/Nature/Hiking. I love being outdoors and in Nature, I have a dream of building a resort that is totally self sufficient in all things, power, water, food, light. As a quiet retreat away from the city for reflection, meditation, "prayer" and team building type activities. Maybe you want to touch base with me on that idea some time.

Right, there you have my 9 things...

I impress myself... that I even managed to find them inside me...!
